The Firm for the past year has been representing an International hotel chain in a variety of criminal charges regarding their employees. The actions range from allegations of sexual harassment, filing for bail in a criminal matter, application against termination of employment during the lock down for Covid-19 to a fresh action of filing criminal complaint under Section 22-CrPc.
The Firm has successfully represented the Hotel chain in the sexual harassment matter. After a lengthy drawn-out court battle, we were also able to secure bail for the employees of the hotel chain in a separate matter. We are currently representing the hotel chain in the employee dismissal matter as well as representing the employees of the hotel in the criminal complaint under Section 22-CrPc.
Criminal law matter requires proper and timely handling which includes detailed review of evidence, coaching accused and witnesses pre meeting the police and dealing with cognizable or non-cognizable nature of the crime before the court.
As opposed to the common practice of dealing with individuals on matters related to criminal law, we are one of the few law firms in Pakistan which advice corporation and organizations on criminal law.
Labour courts in Pakistan when dealing with employment matters also have the powers of magistrate courts and employment matters can take the form of criminal charges mid-course, thus we have found that our criminal law experience aids our employment practice.
